1. I learned how to use acrylic paint, and i learned how to create a figure drawing. I have never really drawn a figure so this was something new for me. I chose to paint myself but I am not really good at drawing facial features, so instead i just drew the back of my head. I learned how to use acrylic paint, and how to make vibrant colors with the paint. I applied this all in my painting by using bright colors, and creating a figure
2. I struggled coming up with an idea for a while, but i then decided that i wanted to do a spin on a picture that i found on pinterest. Since i had to make it my own i used different colors, for example i went off of my own skin tone and hair color. So i first sketched an image and then i began adding colors to make it come to life. I like the colors i chose, and i like the way that i made this painting my own. For this project we looked at a lot of different elements of art. We then picked a element to further research. I was assigned form, and I decided to do a clay plate. I researched clay plates and i found some that i really liked.
What new information did you learn about the Elements of Art? I learned about all the different elements of art and how to actually apply it into my work. I also learned that many of the pieces i have done in the past include many elements of art. Why did you select the element you did? What Inspired you about it? I decided to do clay, because i was assigned to do a powerpoint on form and i found it interesting. I really liked the way it looked, and i thought i could use the plate for many different purposes. I hope to do many other clay pieces in the future. A. What skills have you developed as part of this unit?
I have learned how to draw human features and make them look a lot more realistic. i have learned the structure of the face and how using grids when drawing can help make the work look a lot more realistic. i have learned how to shade to make a drawing look more realistic. B. What did you want to learn about drawing the face? How did you accomplish it and what challenges did you encounter? I learned that when drawing a face you really need a reference image. Drawing a face can be extremely challenging, but if you don't have a reference image it makes it a lot harder. One of the biggest challenges that i had was making the features look more realistic with shading. C. What do you still want to explore about figure or portrait work? This could be skills that you want to develop or ideas for further work. In the future i want to do portrait work with paint. I feel like paint will make the picture look less realistic but more abstract. I enjoy using paint and would like to combine that with portrait work. |
